During a special halftime ceremony of the Clear Creek vs. Clear Brook football game at Veterans Memorial Stadium on September 28, Principal Jamey Majewski officially retired the jersey of James Glenn, number 99, in front of a packed Wildcat crowd.

Glenn, who graduated from Clear Creek High School in 1991, was an All-District place kicker each of the three years he played varsity football and he lettered in soccer two years. Widely known for his high moral character and beloved by his peers, Glenn was elected vice president of the student body in his senior year and was honored for his citizenship with the American Legion Award and the Clear Creek Medallion.

“James was more than a student and an athlete,” said Majewski. “He is best remembered by those who knew him as a friend who cared. He was a gentle spirit who respected everyone and who had a special rapport with younger children.”

He passed away on September 25, 1991 while attending Texas A&M University where he played on the 1991 Southwest Conference champion Aggie football team. His parents, Stephen and Mariglen Glenn, have remained cherished members of the Wildcat family and football booster club and attend most games wearing their son’s #99 jersey.

The Houston Texans organization helped honor the Creek graduate at the halftime ceremony presenting a signed jersey from another honorable #99, J.J. Watt.
